Currently users have their login names (nicks) only. It would be good to have the possibility to add a voluntary full name as well.
If a full name is given, this name is used whenever a user name has to be displayed, especially in Emails being sent out (e.g. page links).
If no full name is given, the short login name (nickname) is being used.
Maybe let the user even log in with this full name, if he wants. So these 2 names (long & short) are treated equally.
(This is a feature of e.g. OSX, you can use the short nick or the full name wherever you have to login.)
More advanced: If a full name is given, unlock a user configurable checkbox, so the user can choose if the full name is being used or the login nick is being preferred. (In short: let the user set his preference for long/short)
Background for this request:
We're using deki as a colaboration tool for us and our customers, so it would be great to be able to use the full names instead of the nicknames (e.g. when sending email links, etc). Unfortunately, renaming all users to their full names is not an option (accounts are synced externally).
