Using Firefox latest version and IE7 latest version
using latest version of VM Hayes

I cannot cut and paste into a page with a 'right click' dialog.
This does work when leaving a comment on a page.

Was this option taken out by choice or just a bug, it used to work in Gooseberry.

It's an omission. You can either go to the 'Edit' menu and select 'Paste' or simply press Ctrl-v to insert the copied text.

Hi Steve,

Will you guys be adding this feature again in future updates?

I logged a bug on it. You can subscribe to it to get notifications about its status.

I have been told that you do not have the right click copy paste option in the Deki Wiki editor because firefox does not allow it for security reasons.

What is strange though is that when I am not using the editor I am able to copy and paste text by right clicking. I am also able to copy and paste text by right clicking within the editor when it is in HTML mode.

I have tested this out on FCKeditor and Yahoo RTE

FCK editor gives a message saying my browsers security settings don't allow right click copy and paste and that I should use the keyboard shortcuts CTRL-X and CTRL-V

Yahoo RTE has no issues with right click copy and paste with Firefox.

Can somthing like this be added to the Hayes editor also?

When you're not using the editor, you're not passing through Javascript - the browser enforces extra precautions on writing from your browser's memory. That we cannot control. Although Yahoo's RTE may support that functionality, it probably was a significant workaround of sorts.

Long story short, given our lack of visibility into the future about which editor we're supporting, we'll probably not be devoting too many engineering resources to these types of edge cases. Your best bet is to get the Xinha guys to add it into their main branch; we do sync up with their product every now and then.
