Could someone explain what a chronotag in Deki is and how it can be used? We found the string in resources.txt, but I didn't find anything about it in the wiki or in the forums.
Chronotags are date tags. There are a few special classes of tags (define: and date: ) which exhibit special behavior.
When you save a chronotag, if the system recognizes the date format, it will store the tag as a date. You can click the date in the tag list and get a list of all the pages within the system which also share that date (it takes you to the Special:Events page). You can specify a date range there and see all items tagged to that range.
Try creating a page and adding the tag date:now, and do another page with date:2007/08/20 and click one of those links to see how it works :)
It's a very specific feature, so it's not advertised too much :)

Great, thanks for the explanation!
It's a very nifty & in some cases extremely useful feature. And - now it's documented on the forums. ;)
As part of our ongoing documentation efforts, I've written a feature page on tagging - this explains in simple terms how to use it :)

I am trying to search specific pages with a chronotag. The purpose is to look for ranges of dates (e.g. everything from 2008) and list them. This is not as easily as expected.
I hope someone can help me with this issue.
