Hi
I hope I'm not asking a really daft question here...I did search the forums for "search" but nothing jumped out from the many pages found.
I am running Mindtouch Core v9.08.3 on a CentOS 5 server.
It was originally installed as 9.08.2 (I think) and upgraded to 9.08.3.
I've just migrated some data into it from a trial wiki we had running elsewhere (also v9.08.3).
Everything seems to work just fine - except the search box.
Whatever I enter in the search box - even words that I know exist inside pages or page titles - no results get returned.
Am I doing something stupid ??
Cheers
Lee

I have the same problem. I Get no results.
Not even "search" it finds.

Did you try rebuilding the index via the control panel? (Cache Management > Rebuild lucene index)
Does MindTouch have permission to create the lucene index file on the filesystem?

I have repeatedly rebuilded the index via the control panel!
Control panel shows that:
1.Rebuild:
Index actively being rebuilt: Lucene found a total of 3100 items and has completed -14568 items (-469.94%).
2.Rebuild:
Index actively being rebuilt: Lucene found a total of 20 items and has completed -17649 items (-88245%).
3.Rebuild:
Index actively being rebuilt: Lucene found a total of 83 items and has completed -17613 items (-21220.48%).
it shows after a new rebuild every time different values

Yes I have tried rebuilding the index via the control panel.
With regards to your second point - I have no idea. Can you tell me what to look for ?
Glad to see I'm not the only one with this problem...I don't feel so stupid now.
Thanks

OK, I *think* I have fixed my problem.
Some of the replies in this thread lead me to search the forums with some new keywords like "lucene index file"...
And I came across this thread (http://forums.developer.mindtouch.com/showthread.php?t=3778).
I know it's outdated, but it led me to have a look at a few things.
I went to the filter directory (/var/www/dekiwiki/bin/filters) and noticed that all of the filters had execute permissions for the dekiwiki user - except for "mindtouch.deki.filter.exe".
Now to me that looked quite important, and the fact it was a ".exe" file suggested it should have execute permissions.
I added execute permissions, rebuilt the search index again through the control panel, and ta-daa - I now have search results.
Any idea why this one file did not have the right permissions - a possible bug in the install or upgrade process ?

I set the permossions under (/opt/deki/web/filters/mindtouch.deki.filter.exe) as the other files.
But I haven't search results.

Did you rebuild the search index via the control panel after you changed the permissions ?

Yes I did!
Here is a screenshot of the permissions.

mindtouch.deki.filter.exe is a Windows executable that uses the IFilter plug-ins to index any content. I don't think it will work on CentOS. Check how to configuring indexing under Linux.

I have no idea! The search has previously partially works.
Now they do not work at all.
