    Default Several "pre-install" questions

    I'm interested in using Deki, but there's a couple of things that I'd like to know more about.

    1. Is there a way to send email if pages being watched are updated?

    2. Can the tree in teh sidebar be configured to stop auto-configuring itself? I can see our users getting very confused when some top level elements disappear on them.

    3. Last, any explanation on why the PHP memory settings need to be so high when configuring Deki?

    Thanks

    Default Thought of something else...

    Is it possible to disable the comments systemwide?

    Nope, but we offer RSS feeds. You can use one of those RSS2Email scripts to accomplish this yourself.

    Not that I'm aware of.

    Just for speed. You can probably get away with much lower memory settings if you'd like.

    Yes, search the forums, there's a few ways to disable comments.

    There is also a FAQ on disabling comments here.

    Default Disabling Comments

    Thanks had missed that in the wiki. I had added a line in the custom CSS fields:

    # comments {display:none;}

    which hid the form, but didn't get rid of the tag. Was thinking I would ahve to modify the skin, but it would be nice if the divs of the different sections were IDed for easy CSS modifications. Just a thought.
