    Default Talk Page

    I created a Talk Page, but I'm not sure how to go to that page. If I click on recent changes I'm able to get to that page. Other than that I don't see where it's located. Can someone please help me?

    Click on the "more" menu next to "new page" and "add page". It's the second to last menu entry.

    If you are using Ace or Fiesta then the "more" menu has a link to the talk page. ARGH! Steve beat me out!

    That is where I clicked to create the page, but I want to know once the page is created where do you go to look at it?

    That is how you access the talk page. It's a separate work area to collect notes about the page that you talking about. There isn't any way to navigate the talk namespace.

    Is there any way to highlight in a page that a talk page has been created?

    None of the skins support this functionality. You can use code something in PHP to make an API call to see if the corresponding talk page exists for every page to get this information. I'm also pretty sure linking to the talk page in the content of the main page will appear in two styles (for existing vs. non-existent talk pages).

    I found that if you are 2 or more subpages deep the Talk URL breaks.
    If I were on a subpage of page A that we will call page B then the link for the Talk page is TalkageA/pageB
    If I click on this link then the title of the Talk page is just PageB and not Talk:PageB
    If I go up one to PageA and I click on the Talk page link(TalkageA) then the Talk page title is Talk:PageA.
    This second example is how it should behave.
    In the first example there is not a way to distinguish a talk page from the actual page.
    Any suggestions or fixes?

    I believe what you're describing is the expected behavior. It is consistent with how titles are handled for other namespaces:

    Create User: PageA/PageB
    Observe that the title is displayed as PageB

    I agree that the UI could make it clearer that you're on a talk page (file a suggestion bug). Currently, you can either look at the URL, check the more menu and attach file to see that they're grayed out, or use the editor to manually rename the title to have Talk: in it.

    Another really annoying thing with talk pages (should I bug report?) is that if I'm on a page and I hit up Talk Pages and I go straight into the editor.. if I change the title on the talk page there and hit save the talk page will be "lost" - ie, if I have a page named "Teddy";

    I visit Teddy page at http://mywiki/Teddy
    I hit More->Talk
    I instantly edit the title to "TeddyBear" and enter "test" in the body and hit save
    In the location bar on my browser I enter http://mywiki/Teddy (i refresh)
    I then hit More->Talk... nothing..the page I have previously created became a talk page for a "parent-page" that doesnt exist (TeddyBear).

    On a side note, a user with the rights to:
    LOGIN
    BROWSE
    READ
    SUBSCRIBE
    UPDATE
    CREATE

    can't create a talk page - this must be a bug no? at least it doesnt work for pages that were created by an admin
    Regards,
    Lars
