    Default Search Attachment Summaries

Does the default Lucene search include the attachment file summaries?
    If not, can it?
If so, can this be displayed in the preview of the search results?

    Thanks.

Are you talking about the File Description field within MindTouch or the special attributes Summary within the file itself?

    The file description.

We want to create a drop box for valuable files collected for research, but don't have an article to attach it to. In this instance, the summary would be very valuable in search results as a preview.

    Thanks

I know you can control the amount of summary text that get returned in the standard search, but have not found anything for adding extra field info. It seems logical to return the field in which the text was found (in this case file description) but it does not seems to. You can however build your own specialized search template to be able to retrieve the information you are looking for.

    bwhiting,

I started to build an example of a custom search that would do what your looking for. However I ran into some unpredictable results using the wiki.getsearch function. I have submitted another thread to try and clear up whats happening.

That would no doubt be a good solution.
