Lightbulb User profiles based on LDAP data

We're gathering ideas for enhancing the LDAP connector to be able to pull in queried data stored in your directory other than basic authentication and user lookups. We're currently working on a spec that discusses a few potential ways to surface this information. We're considering uses cases for a user profile/dashboard, contextual user info popup, and user search. Please take a look at the work in progress spec here

and don't hesitate to comment and provide suggestions to help us build features you'll want to use!

    Thanks!

What I see there already looks very good to me and covers everything I've wanted to pull in from ldap so far. This will be very useful.

Any news on this? I'm needing this very functionality right now to pull contact info from ldap into a user profile page

The feedback request is from 2009. We didn't see enough interest to pursue it further.

They are still there, but limited in functionality and usefulness. We have seen much requested functionality or feedback for them. Most users don't even seem to know they exist. So I'd rather focus our efforts on search, editing, and content organization, which is something that almost everyone uses and benefits from.
