That has been enabled for a few months now. It has nothing to with iOS. Instead, we detect that you're running in an iOS browser and instead of loading the editor, we load a simple textarea. It's rudimentary and a far cry from being a good experience, BUT it does work and makes it possible to fix an issue if the need should arise.

Really, wow. So that must have been in the Olympix 10.x release.

Thanks a TON. Really appreciate it!!! I hope iOS support improves over time (I did send in bugs to Apple directly and will continue to).

    Default iOS5 CKEditor compatibility

I pasted a link from CKEditor saying their 3.6.2 release is compatible with Safari in the new iOS5.

This is already supported in 10.1

    Default 10.1 Supports CKEditor 3.5.2

The release notes I checked for 10.1 said it includes CKEdit 3.5.2; not 3.6.2.

    Just FYI ...

I know that we fixed this issue earlier this year. If you try to edit on an iOS device, it will open a plain text editor instead of the WYSIWYG one.

Default Is it or isn't it?

    This thread leaves me confused.

In the latest core build (10.1.3?), what version of CKeditor is included? Is WYSIWYG iOS editing supported? If not, will it be? This would be a huge feature for my users.

I just tried the demo on the CKeditor site and it looks really nice. If 10.1.3 supports it, then I will start planning an upgrade (we're still on 10.0.7).

For what it's worth, I note that the 11.1 release running on the dev wiki does not seem to support WYSIWYG mobile editing.

Default opera browser - editor may work

The opera browser works well with the mindtouch editor on android, and it is available for the ipad too. I am using the full opera version on android but there is at least a mini version available in the apple app store. Please post if someone tests this before I do.

    Thanks

    Hi Steve,

As a long time user of Mindtouch I've been hoping we'd see 10.1.x or 10.2 release with CKEditor 3.6.2 or higher to provide full iOS compatibility. Since Mindtouch is moving to the cloud fully and there will soon be no further releases for v10, it would be fantastic if we could get this one final feature before v10 sails off into the sunset. Please?

    I'll second that.
