Default Content Export / Import to another Wiki

    Hi,

Does anyone have an idea how to export all the content out auf DekiWiki (Mindtouch Core) to another Wiki, f.e. MediaWiki, DokuWiki, XWiki, ...? I'd like to export: content (with formatting), history, files, maybe permissions.
As the downloadable, free, opensource edition is not maintained anymore (MT moved to the cloud) it's time to move on to an opensource wiki which is really free and can be installed on an own server...
I'm sure I'll miss the great features of DekiWiki (or Mindtouch Core) like DekiScript which is really nice!

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias

There is a command line utility mindtouch.import.exe
I've never tried it - so good luck.

    Tobias,

Sad to see you leave. You've been around for such a long time.

As Jeremy pointed out, you can use mindtouch.import.exe to export the contents of a site to a folder. It will store pages and in XML documents for easy post-processing. You could then either use an XSLT or another HTML-to-wikitext tool to convert the contents into something you can import somewhere else.

There aren't any technical limitations in MindTouch Core that would prevent you from being successful.

Just as side note, we will be releasing 10.1 updates on a quarterly basis. So the "not maintained" argument is not correct, but it's true that MindTouch TCS--our cloud offering--has made leaps of progress compared to the on-premise version. It's just amazingly simpler to develop for cloud than for on-premise software. There's always just 1 version to support: the latest version!

Good luck and hope to see you back some day.

    Cheers!

I agree that the "not maintained" is not an argument, but Steve, keep in mind that not all people like cloud, for privacy and security reasons. That's why i use this great tool, but will never switch to a cloud version

About the migration part, i have once a long time ago use the API to get a list used then to parse all pages. It requires some scripting abilities of course, but it works. Looks like mindtouch.import.exe is better
