Thread: Lost VM password

    Default Lost VM password

I'm using a VM installation that it's a bit old, but I don't remember the password and I want to upgrade our installation. I know that we haven't chanced it and as far as I can remember, the user is "dekiwiki". Any tips of that default password(already tried "password")

    Thanks in advance

Unless you changed, it's by default "root" and "password" (w/o quotes).

If you did forget the login password, but have access to the boot screen of the VM, you can easily bypass the log-in security. You should be able to find something online when searching for Debian and root access. I did a few years ago when I found myself in a similar situation, but don't recall the steps.
