Default Migrating mediawiki to mindtouch suggestions/recommendations

I'm new to mindtouch. We are currently using mediawiki but we've recently installed mindtouch core on a local computer and are impressed with its functionality. One major concern we have though is how to get our mediawiki content into mindtouch. We installed 10.1.3 and our mediawiki is version 1.14.

My question is what is the best/recommended way to import the data. I noticed that the migration tool hasnt been updated in 2 years so is there any point in even trying it with those versions. Would it work if we tried to install an older version of mindtouch... used the import tool and then upgrade my mindtouch install... Is it possible to do this.

Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated

The tool is pretty out-dated. Your best best is to go through page-by-page and copy paste the HTML from MediaWiki into the WYSIWYG editor and then clean-up the content. Laborious, but 100% success rate. Alternatively, if you someone with a bit of programming skills, they should be able to build a simple web-scraper that imports the content via the MindTouch API. It's more work and only pays off if you have 500+ pages though.
